Thank you to the Spirit Mountain Community Fund

Our one-year grant from the Spirit Mountain Community Fund is now complete. The generous SMCF grant provided funds to help with tuition assistance, and this has allowed a number of our students to participate who otherwise might not have been able to. Thank you also to our Treasurer, Phyllis Devine, who recognized the need in our community and wrote the SMCF grant proposal.

If you would like to contribute funds for tuition assistance so that future students in financial need can participate, please contact us. We welcome any donations.

Youth Symphony members- letter from Mr. Garrett

Dear Youth Symphony Member:

I wanted to remind you again of the announcement that I made about the dress rehearsal. The top orchestra will not have its dress rehearsal on Saturday, May 2 like the other SYSO groups. Rather, our dress rehearsal will be on Sunday afternoon beginning promptly at 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM on stage at Smith. This will make it possible for us to have all our musicians present, and will avoid the conflict with Saturday's OSAA State Solo Contest.

I have been informed that there will be photographers there to take a group picture. Please come fully dressed in concert uniform for the dress rehearsal, so that we can get a good photo as well. They will be taking action pictures of us as well.

Seniors -Please check with Joyce Epp at Monday's rehearsal and make sure that we have your senior designation and number of years of service correct. I do not want to miss any of you in my presentation on stage at the concert.

I am eagerly looking forward to our concert.

Sincerely,

Larry Garrett

PS from Joyce Epp:  Tickets available at Monday's rehearsal for $7 family member adults, $5 students. Remember, this is your LAST CHANCE before the concert to purchase tickets ahead, due to no Saturday dress rehearsal.
