Thank you to Sean O'Neal, Phil Taylor and audience

Sean O’Neal, former concert master of the Salem Youth Symphony, SYS concerto competition winner, and 2007 South Salem High School graduate, gave a free recital on August 8 at 7 pm in Hudson Hall. Sean is currently pursuing a degree in violin performance at the University of Oregon. He performed with Phil Taylor, a 2006 South Salem High School graduate. Phil is currently studying piano and composition at Willamette University. The program included works by Mozart, Liszt, Shostakovich, Prokofiev and Grieg.

Thank you to Sean and Phil for a magnificent evening of music and for performing as a benefit for the Salem Youth Symphony. We are grateful for the generous donations from the audience. The money will support the Salem Youth Symphony program this year. Thank you for helping us serve our student musicians this year.

Free violin and piano recital

Sean and Phil have decided that admission to the recital will be free, and they will give any donations to the Salem Youth Symphony. We are grateful for Sean’s and Phil’s generosity.

SYSA would like to update our logo. We cannot offer any payment for a new design, but we welcome any donated submissions. The board will consider submitted designs on July 13. You can email your artistic creations to info@salemyouthsymphony.org. Thank you for helping!

Did you order a DVD or CD of the spring concert?

You can pick up your orders during audition day, June 6, between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm at First Christian Church (map).  Others will be mailed as you requested on your order form.
